The Embassy of the Russian Federation

Embassy of the Russian Federation is the state body of external relations of the Russian Federation, carrying out representation of the Russian Federation in the Netherlands.

The embassy is established under the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation in connection with establishment of diplomatic relations with the Netherlands at the level of embassies on the basis of the decree of the President of the Russian Federation.

The embassy carries out its activity according to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, federal laws, decrees and orders of the President of the Russian Federation, decisions and orders of the Government of the Russian Federation, Regulation on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Regulation on the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the foreign state, the present Regulation, statutory acts and instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, and also the Viennese convention on the diplomatic relations and other applicable norms of international law.

The embassy provides realization of uniform political line of the Russian Federation in relations with the Netherlands and in these purposes carries out coordination of activity and control of work taking place in the Netherlands of representations of federal enforcement authorities, the Russian official bodies, the organizations and enterprises, their delegations and groups of experts, and also representations of subjects of the Russian Federation.

The embassy is headed by the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Netherlands, H.E. Mr. Alexander V. Shulgin.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry of The Russian Federation

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation is a non-governmental, non-profit organization uniting its members for meeting the tasks and objectives set out in the Russian Federation Law on Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Russian Federation and the Chamber`s own Charter.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation represents the interests of small, medium and big business and encompasses all business sectors – manufacturing, domestic and foreign trade, agriculture, the finance system and services.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation promotes the growth of the Russian economy and its integration into the world economic system and provides favorable conditions for the advancement of all business sectors.

Goals and Tasks of the RF CCI:

Assistance to the modernization of the national economy, the broad introduction of innovations and the drawing of investments; Protection of the interests of the business community in governmental agencies and local authorities; Creation of an efficient system of expert appraisal of draft legislative and normative acts in the interests of entrepreneurs; Development of relations with the business communities in foreign states and international business organizations; Assistance to the efficient and constructive settlement of civil law disputes and development of mediating procedures; Promotion of principles of civilized business and social awareness in the business environment; Formation of a positive image of Russian producers of commodities and services. The system of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation comprises:

174 territorial chambers of commerce and industry; Over 200 federal unions, associations and other organizations of entrepreneurs and 500 regional business associations representing the key sectors of the Russian economy; About 50,000 enterprises and organizations of various forms of property. The system of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia incorporates 34 committees in various spheres of activity and business areas and more than 1,000 committees, commissions, councils and other public units formed by territorial chambers.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation promotes the activity of over 60 Russian business councils with foreign states.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation is a member of the World Chambers Federation, the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambers), the Council of the Chairmen of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in CIS Member Countries, the Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Asian-Pacific Region countries and other international and regional organizations.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation renders the following services:

Expert examination of goods and services;
Appraisal of property;
Holding of exhibitions, fairs and congresses;
Intellectual property protection;
Execution of documents related to foreign economic activity (certificates of commodity origin, ATA carnets and others), authenticates force majeure circumstances, trade and port customs;
Information services and legal consultations;
Keeping of nongovernmental registers of experts in goods inspection and property appraisal, and the Reliable Partners Register;
Accrediting of representative offices of foreign firms and organizations in the Russian Federation.

The World Trade Center, Expocentre, Soyuzexpertiza, and Sojuzpatent associations are well known in Russia and abroad, along with over 350 other enterprises and firms set up by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and territorial chambers of commerce and industry, which form the infrastructure servicing businesses at the federal and regional levels.

Bodies assisting the settlement of economic disputes operate under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation:

The International Commercial Arbitration Court;
The Court of Arbitration for Resolution of Economic Disputes;
The Maritime Arbitration Commission;
The Court of Arbitration for Sport;
The Association of Average Adjusters;
The Panel of Mediators in Conciliation Procedures.
The International Press Center of the RF CCI organizers up to 100 press conferences and briefings per year to comment on:

Key events held by the Chamber;
Meetings of the President and the heads of the RF CCI;
Adoption of key legislative and governmental documents.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation is the heir to the rich traditions of domestic industrialists and entrepreneurs and to experience of interaction with the public and state power bodies.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation assisted the establishment of:

The Mercury Club, which discusses problems of the development of the economy of Russia, the support to enterprise and draft economic programs with the participation of politicians, public figures, businessmen and the media.
The Center for Support to Homeless Children — a charity fund founded by the Chamber in development of one of the best traditions of Russian business – charity and philanthropy.
The Commercial and Industrial Pension Fund — a socially oriented project of the RF CCI system rendering pension services to enterprises of various forms of property and individuals on an unrestricted basis.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation annually holds the "National Golden Mercury Prize" Competition in the sphere of enterprise and the Russian Journalism Contest "Economic Revival of Russia."
The Netherlands-Russia Council for Trade Promotion (NRCH)

The Netherlands-Russia Council for Trade Promotion (NRCH) is one of the largest and most important bilateral councils for trade promotion that are part of the organizational structure of the Netherlands Council for Trade Promotion (NCH). Thanks to its board that consists of members with extensive experience in doing business in Russia and a wide network both on Russian and Dutch sides, the NRCH is able to promote the interests of Dutch companies that are commercially active in Russia or are planning to start such activities. The Chairman of the Board of the NRCH is Mr. Bernard, Global Co-Head of the Commodity Group of ING International Trade and Export Finance.

The NRCH maintains good relationships with government bodies in Russia and The Netherlands and is therefore able to lobby for a favourable trade and investment climate between the two countries. The network meetings, information sessions, seminars and trade missions that the NRCH organises, offer members of the NRCH a possibility to collect valuable information, exchange experiences and build up a network which helps them to be successful in business.
Public Diplomacy Corps

The Public Diplomacy Corps (PDC) is the official and actual organising body of the RusPrix Award. Apart from RusPrix, their main yearly event, PDC conducts a number of well-known conferences and arranges business activities at the highest level for various clients from the business- and political elite. The PDC team regularly uses their event-organising experience to raise funds for the benefit of charitable projects. In recent years the PDC has expanded its range of activities and now, in addition to business activities, the PDC also acts as organizer of various political events as well as colourful festivals that are open for wide public.
