An innovative partnership between Royal Philips Electronics and Electron, a leading Russian medical equipment manufacturer, is a unique cooperation format for the Russian market - The two companies teamed up to develop the first Russian Computed Tomography Scanner.
Their partnership focus initially on the development of these computed tomography products, but will likely be expanded in the future with other healthcare products such as magnetic resonance-, X-ray-, and ultrasound systems. Their development and manufacturing facilities have been set up in St. Petersburg, where also the first jointly-developed CT scanner with a Russian-language interface was presented in a Hospital for war veterans.
The Philips-Electron partnership is aimed at supporting the modernization of the Russian healthcare system by providing technologies needed for early diagnostics. And early diagnostics, for example by using CT scans, are key in reducing the mortality rate and increasing the average life expectancy in Russia.
We always encourage examples of a such partnership and, with great pleasure we give out the RusPrix Award for the outstanding contribution to the development of Russian-Dutch economic relations to Royal Philips Electronics and Electron.
